Q: How does it work?
A: Revibe Connect sends silent vibrations to the wrists of users to gently remind them to get back to their work, studies, etc.
When users feel a vibration on their wrist, they are to simply ask themselves: “Am I doing what I’m supposed to be doing?”. If on-task, they keep up the good work! If off-task, it triggers them to get back to the task at hand.
The ultimate goal is to foster independence by increasing metacognition (the act of thinking about one's own thoughts).
Q: How does it know when to vibrate?
A: We've developed five “Modes”, which determine the frequency of vibration reminders.
“Adaptive Mode” learns the user’s unique focus needs, adjusting the vibration reminders as needed. The user responds to Revibe Connect’s vibration reminders by tapping the device’s screen once if they were off-task, or twice if on-task. These user responses help Revibe’s machine learning algorithm to adapt the vibration reminders over time.
The other four “Modes” are pre-programmed using research based tables to cover various levels of difficulty staying on-task:
1- Low (mildly off-task; occasionally daydreams): Reminders about every 10 minutes
2- Moderate (moderately off-task; often daydreams): Reminders about every 7 minutes
3- High (significantly off-task; constantly daydreams): Reminders about every 4 minutes
4- Homework (for all focus levels): alternating internals of 15 minutes work time (with reminders about every 3 minutes) and 5 minutes break time
Q: Is it a medical device that can be covered by health insurance?
Revibe Connect is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition; nor is it a substitute for any professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Instead, Revibe is a behavioral tool designed to provide simple prompts for anyone and everyone who needs a reminder to get back to work. This means that the device is typically not accepted by insurance carriers, but we recommend checking with them to be sure.
Q: Will it work for my child?
A: Revibe Connect is best suited for kids who may have to rely upon teachers and parents to help them stay on-task. While it won't motivate kids who don't want to stick to their work, it will provide much needed reminders for those who do.
Q: What if my child is not honest about whether they are on-task or off-task?
A: This is an understandable concern that many parents have. According to our research, the vast majority of students are honest when asked to self-assess. It may help to explain to them that Revibe is only there to help, and can only help them if they are honest.
Q: Where can I read scientific research about it?
A: Please click here to read a compilation of our studies. We will continue to conduct and share research in the future to help us improve future versions of Revibe Connect.

A: Revibe Connect’s vibration motors were designed to be whisper-quiet for classroom use.

Q: How do I turn it On/Off?
A: You can turn Revibe on by simply putting it on (the user’s natural movement will wake it up), and turn it off by taking it off and placing it in a quiet place (it will fall asleep within 20 minutes). Additionally, you can manually turn off Revibe in the app under Settings>Preferences>User Device Preferences>Mode>Off.

Q: Which wrist do you recommend wearing it on?
We recommend wearing Revibe on your dominant hand.
Q: How long does the battery last?
A: The battery will last for 1-2 days of normal use, but we recommend charging Revibe Connect daily for up to 2 hours.
Q: Why is there a paid subscription?
A: Revibe Connect collects a huge amount of data about the user’s behavior and activity; far more data than most wearables collect. Our goal is to be able to offer advanced insights that will help the user understand themselves and how to improve. There are costs associated with securely storing this data over time, which is why we have a subscription fee.

Q: Can multiple people log into the app at the same time?
Q: Can I use the same app subscription for multiple Revibe devices?
A: Currently, no. Each subscription is linked to a specific device. This means, multiple people can share one device.
